This popular itinerary starts in Chengdu and enables visitors to visit the heart of the eastern region of Tibet, Ganze and Derge. We go on a beautiful 7 day trek dominated by snow-capped mountains, forest, pasture, lakes with nomad camps and their livestock, grazing around on the beautiful grassland. The landscape of this 7 day trek is reported by many of visitors. In a word, it is the most beautiful trekking area in Tibet.
Day 01: Flight to Chengdu. Transfer to airport & rest. Afternoon, visit Chengdu. Night in hotel
Day 02: Drive to Kham. Dartsedo (Kangting). Night in hotel
Day 03: Drive to Lakhang (4hrs). Night in guest house
Day 04: Drive to Drango. Night in hotel
Day 05: Drive to Dzokchen. Visit Kardzé monastery. Night at hotel
Day 06: Easy trek to acclimatize around the monastery (4-5hrs). Camp
Day 07: Drive to Derge. Night at hotel
Day 08: After visiting Derge monastery, drive to Pelpung (3960m/5hrs). Climb on to Palpung monastery and visit. Night at Camp
Day 09: Through the Horla Pass (4400m), trek up to the Dzongsar monastery (3690m). Night at Camp
Day 10: Climb up to Pema Sheldrup Hermitage (4510m) and Guru Rinpoche Cave. Camp
Day 11: Trek along high Tibetan plateau and cross two passes. Hachung La (4740m) and Dzongkar La (4790m). Walk down to the village of Rongme at (4180m). Camp
Day 12: Trek up to Reda Pass (4100m) then to Yangkarna. Night at Camp
Day 13: Trek along the high plateau where to see the nomads. Night at Camp
Day 14: Cross Dzen la Pass (4900m), climb down to Dzentso Lake. Night at Camp
Day 15: Trek up to the holy lake Yilhun Lhatso or the Khampas. Transfer to Manigango for festival. Night at Camp
Day 16: Drive to Nyarong via Kardze. Night at Camp
Day 17: Drive to Lithang, visit its monastery. Night at Camp
Day 18: Long drive to Dartsedo. Night at Hotel
Day 19: Drive to Chengdu. Night at hotel
Day 20: Depart from Chengdu
